Nasza utalentowana nastoletnia tenisistka wygrała w imponującym stylu turniej ITF w Budapeszcie z pulą nagród 60 tys. dolarów.

W stolicy Węgier Świątek w pięciu wygranych pojedynkach straciła tylko jednego seta. W rozegranym w minioną sobotę finale budapesztańskiego turnieju przeciwniczką 17-letniej warszawianki była starsza od niej o rok i wyżej notowana w rankingu WTA (203. miejsce) Ukrainka Katarina Zawacka. Świątek przegrała dwa pierwsze gemy, ale potem opanowała nerwy i przestała popełniać proste błędy. Po 80 minutach gry wygrała ostatecznie 6:2, 6:2. Triumf w Budapeszcie to największy jak dotąd sukces warszawianki na zawodowych kortach. Wcześniej zwyciężała w mniejszych turniejach ITF w Sztokholmie (2016), Bergamo, Gyor (2017) oraz Szarm el-Szejk i Pelham (2018).

Dzięki sukcesowi w Budapeszcie zajmująca 298. lokatę na światowej liście Świątek awansuje w okolice 225. pozycji, co już pozwoli jej na starty w eliminacjach Wielkiego Szlema. Ale nasza utalentowana tenisistka w przyszłym tygodniu ma wystąpić w kolejnym turnieju rangi ITF z pula nagród 60 tys. dolarów, tym razem na kortach ziemnych w szwajcarskim Montreux. Tam również do wzięcia jest 80 punktów rankingowych.
